Connecting a mobile app to physical infrastructure

Pedaly isn't just a mobile app - it communicates with a network of physical bicycle locks installed across multiple locations.

I built the mobile application and backend responsible for authentication, subscriptions, parking sessions and communication with the lock infrastructure. Riders can find available parking, scan a QR code and unlock a bicycle space directly from the app.

Real-time availability

Each parking location needs to reflect the current state of its locks so riders know where space is actually available.

The backend keeps track of lock status and active parking sessions, allowing the app to present live availability while also giving operators insight into how the network is being used.

Built for everyday use

The finished system combines the mobile experience, backend services and physical hardware into one platform. Pedaly is publicly available on both iOS and Android and is used to access the company's bicycle parking locations.
